Build Defensible and Strong Blogs

In the past, I‘ve never thought about if a blog or site is defensible or not. But now I think everyone should answer this question for himself / herself very carefully: Is your site defensible?
Links are defensible sources of traffic. This is very important, because search engines can be whimsical about your sites, and search engines can even punish your sites, by lowering the page rank of your site, reducing the indexed pages of the sites, even by removing it completely from their result pages. I’m sure you have heard about the story when some big names of Page rank of 7 are punished by a search engine. With links to your site, you don’t have to bow to search engines unconditionally. Your are defended.
On the other hand, organic search engines, such as Google, factor in a site's link popularity when determining that site's ranking. The more quality links pointing to your site, the better search engine ranking you'll get. By linking to a related site that will be relevant to your website's traffic, you are increasing each of your site's business prospects - and both of your sites' link popularity. Win-Win.
So , try to find sites that are in some way related to yours. This not only will increase your link popularity, but your customer base may also be expanded. And your traffic can be stable.
How to Exchange Links with Other Sites
1. Visit these sites and objectively assess them. Look at the quality of the product, the graphics, and the ease of use. Then check out the other sites they are linked to, and determine if your site fits in with those sites.
2. When you decide you have found a good prospect, you must set out to woo them. The first thing to do is to add a link on your links page to their site. This is an essential first step. It shows good faith, which ups your chances significantly of their responding in kind.
After you have added their link, you must contact the webmaster of the other site. Your message should be clear: tell them right that you have added a link to their page on your site, and be sure to give them the address of your links page, and ask them to check out the link for themselves.
3, After you have emailed them, be sure to check these website frequently to see if they have added a link to your page. Give them a kind reminder, if no link appears, by trying another charming email. Then give it some time, and if your site is still absent from their links page, it's time to remove their link from your own links page.
4, Set up a Schedule to Check Your Ranking in Search Engines. Check regularly to see if your link popularity has improved. This is not achievable in the blink of an eye. It will take some time and a good deal of work, but it’s worth the efforts.
